East Providence is a medium-sized coastal city (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Rhode Island. With a population of 46,691 people and ten associated neighborhoods, East Providence is the fifth largest community in Rhode Island.Unlike some cities, East Providence isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar.
